Our Treasure Coast Father’s Day Guide

Celebrating the special fathers in our lives can be a fun experience for the whole family.  Whether it’s spending a day out on the town, on the water, or in the backyard, dads deserve to be celebrated.  With Father’s Day right around the corner, we wanted to share some of our favorite ideas on how you can make those special fathers in your life feel as loved as they are.

Breakfast in Bed

The best way to a man’s heart is his stomach! Have the kids help you make his favorite breakfast in bed.  If you are looking for recipes, Joanna Gaines’ French Toast Crunch and Kale+Bacon Hash Brown Casserole have become instant favorites in our house.  Or – if he has a favorite breakfast spot nearby, get up a little bit early to pick it up or order delivery with with Postmates or Uber Eats, delivery usually takes about an hour so try to time it out right!  Serving with a heartfelt card and maybe even a small gift will have him starting his day feeling loved and appreciated.

Father’s Day Flight

If your special guy is a fan of craft beverages, support some local businesses and take him to one of the many world-class breweries here on the Treasure Coast.  Sailfish Brewing in Fort Pierce is a great spot, walking distance to Fort Pierce City MarinaHop Life in Port St. Lucie and Ocean Republic in Stuart are other great options for a craft beer experience as well.  All of these spots have outdoor seating, food, and party games.  On your way out, get him a growler of his favorite brew that he had and a T-shirt to remember the trip.

If hanging at home is more his vibe, you can swing by The House of Brews in Jensen Beach and put together an assortment of craft IPAs, lagers, stouts, etc. from local and popular breweries.  If you’re not sure what to get, the team there is extremely friendly and will gladly help you pull together a personalized pack or growler for him.

Go Fishing!

If he likes fishing, plan him a chartered trip! We have some of the best fishing in the world right here in our backyard. There’s a reason Stuart is known as the Sailfish Capital of the World.  Even if he has his own gear, it’s always nice when you have someone else rigging the lines, running the boat, and cleaning up after.

There are many great charters in our area, if you need help finding a good one, Snook Nook has some great recommendations whether it be inshore or offshore.  For a larger offshore party experience the whole family will enjoy, check out the Lady Stuart

Dog Dad Party

Dog Dads count too! Take him to get some yummy treats and toys for his best friend from Wagnolias in Stuart.  Grab some beach chairs, load up a cooler and head to one of our local dog parks for a Fur Father’s Day Party!

Our dog park recommendation in Stuart is Poppleton Creek and if you’re in Port St. Lucie, check out Lyngate Park. Both locations can make for a fun afternoon enjoying the weather and spending quality time together. After all, dogs are a man’s best friend!

Backyard BBQ

Many of us have been stuck indoors for the better part of the last year, so any opportunity to get outside is a welcomed one.  Get the kids involved if you have them, invite some family or close friends over, load up a cooler or fridge with his favorite beverages and have a little Father’s Day party!

If he likes to grill, you can get him some quality cuts of his favorite meat from Publix or the Fresh Market so he can have a reason to bust out the grill and have a little backyard party.  Plan ahead so you’re not running out to the store on the day of.  You can also grab some side dishes and make a nice little spread that everyone will enjoy.  For a winning side dish, we recommend getting a spread of Mrs. Peter’s Smokehouse dips, serve alongside some pickled jalapenos slices, carrots, chopped onions, and some club crackers.

Play some games! Get ready to get a little competitive.  Cornhole is an easy game to learn, but a hard one to master.  Have your dad feeling like his old college self again with this fun tailgating game.  If you don’t have a cornhole set yet, it may be a good time to buy one – It’ll get tons of use in the summer months.

Hit Some Balls

If the man in your life even mildly enjoys golf, there’s several local options on the Treasure Coast that are a great time for the whole family!

Popstroke in Tradition is a Tiger Woods-designed putting course with big screen TVs, food and drinks.  BigShots in Vero Beach is another great place to have some family fun, it is similar to TopGolf with a big, fun driving range.

Dessert Spread

It’s a holiday, so allow the kids to get a bit hopped up on sugar.  Cook or buy dad’s favorite dessert, and get an assortment of some small sweet bites of things he might like that everyone can nibble on.

For baked goods, we highly recommend Sucre in Stuart and Bombolini in Jensen Beach.  Both of their pastries are out of this world!

A Heartfelt Card

Father’s Day is an especially important day to remind the men in your life how much you are thankful for them.  A simple card with a personal, handwritten message from you can make all the difference in the world to him.

For practicality, you can’t go wrong throwing in a Bass Pro Shops or Amazon gift card.

We are a home design team so we would be remiss if we didn’t mention setting up a meeting with us to start planning his mancave or Outdoor Kitchen project.  Check out our Gallery for more inspiration.

We have helped several clients to surprise their loved ones with remodel projects, we can work with you to make that first sit down meeting extra special, whatever the occasion may be.
